In college, I wandered into an old bookstore and stumbled upon a tucked-away section filled with hundreds of vintage fabric books. I still remember the feeling of discovering that little cove of treasures. I bought what I could, and nearly two decades later, those books are still scattered throughout my home.
I also remember falling in love with vintage bread bowls. They were expensive for me at the time, so, as a new nurse, I picked up an extra night shift to buy one. I’m still glad I did.
That’s what I love about vintage décor: if a piece has been beautiful for fifty years, there’s a good chance you’ll find it beautiful for many more.
